DAILY MAIL “Drag queen Courtney Act has a milestone moment as she performs on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge… after being announced as host of Mardi Gras parade”

She’s one of Australia’s most famous drag queens.

And on Thursday, all eyes were on Courtney Act, also known as Shane Jenek, as she had a milestone moment and performed on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The world-renowned drag queen kicked off BridgeClimb’s Mardi Gras celebrations in a custom climb-suit, performing in front of 50 climbers on top of the iconic landmark.

The 37-year-old performer looked every inch the pop star in a long blonde wig worn in a high ponytail.

She wore colourful shoulder straps, which resembled the Sydney Opera House.

Glammed up for the occasion, Courtney was wearing a face full of makeup which consisted of foundation, pink lipstick and a heavy smokey eye.

Courtney accessorised her look with a pink hair ribbon and matching fingernails.

She completed her ensemble with metallic pink shoes and matching socks.

It comes after it was announced that for the first time SBS will air the 2020 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade live on TV.

The network announced Courtney will be taking on hosting duties, alongside Australian comedian Joel Creasey, Narelda Jacobs and Zoë Coombs Marr.

In a statement, Courtney joked: ‘My first time hosting Mardi Gras on SBS and they raise the stakes by making it live!’

She went on to say: ‘I promise to securely fasten all wigs and dresses to ensure there are no live TV wardrobe malfunctions (again)!’

The event will also see Courtney take to the stage and perform on the night.
